The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 开始被困进生死的豪宅，后来被拍进历史的照片，最后被藏进真相的电影。那年亭楼初见他在门廊，后来花魁比赛他在身边，最后流落异国他在银幕。他俩的故事流经案件卷宗，电影剧本，口耳相传。他们追求的真相像火苗被踩灭，只有黑白电影的底片记得，通风管道的血迹记得，只有橱窗里那张过曝的照片会记得。
