The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 作为国内难得一见的绘本漫画作品，虽然定位是儿童教育片，但其中的寓意和主题不止那么简单，七个小故事，包含了空巢老人的生活，农村务工儿童的生活，地震后灾后重新儿童心理建设等话题。相信每个人都能找到自己喜欢的那部。还是蛮喜欢这部电影的。
本身就很喜欢绘本，所以观影过程是满足的。7个小故事的主题都是家庭的温暖与爱，那就是作者心中的明亮那方吧。

首先感谢毒舌的组织，很棒的一次观影体验！第一次看到绘本以电影的形式出现，很适合带着小朋友观影。七个故事的很好看，最喜欢的是萤火虫女孩，糖水铺，小火车。萤火虫女孩是一趟奇妙旅程，老周师傅幸苦了，画面好舒服。糖水铺的蒯【kuai】老伯，一直为了左邻右里坚持开铺，那种温暖是城市里钢筋水泥的楼房里所没有的。小火车开头有猜测到是截肢，只是没想到结尾的父母做得很棒！哼哈二将以为是神话故事，没想到是双生子的，😊。黄焖鸡米饭一家人开开心心过活每一天，真好。小兔子的问题就像所有小朋友都会问的十万个为什么，好可爱。外婆的蓝色铁皮柜轮椅有点伤感，想起我的曾祖母了 (*꒦ິ⌓꒦ີ)
因为迟到不幸错过了第一个故事…
太喜欢那个小火车短片了（音效设计很棒）。哼哈二将最后的空间转换也很喜欢（本人真的是时空转换的忠实爱好者( ¨̮ )）。
国产加一星鼓励。但严格来说都不是很出色的作品，他们只是生活的一隅，照映在绘本上而已。

好看，过瘾！在电影院里不知不觉就过去了一个多小时。身边有个小丫头从影片中段开始就不停抽泣，她应该也是个内心柔软的人吧！《哼将军和哈将军》对于我这样一个有着双胞胎姐姐的人来说，看起来更能感受到双胞胎之间的羁绊——我们在小的时候也经常打闹玩耍，为了分清楚彼此闹出了很多不开心的事情，但是在面对共同的问题时，又会表现的无比团结和坚韧，我的姐姐——她就是我的软肋，她也是我的铠甲！
鼓励鼓励鼓励鼓励鼓励鼓励！
不过七个故事看到后面是有点审美疲劳了
少点站在大人角度的回忆会更好 最喜欢第一章
7个作品各有亮点，有经典的水墨画风，有治愈的彩铅画，《小火车》丑的出奇的3d动画，故事却感动到泪目。我最喜欢的是《外婆的..轮椅》，平静的旁白讲着童年的故事，配合小学课本插画的画风，是90后的味道。《翼娃子的星期天》则将目光放在务工家庭的儿童上，流露出的人文关怀引人深思，这也是只有中国动画创作者才能创作出的题材。好希望每个章节可以出独立动画电影~翼娃子出连环画也行。
排片量少得可怜，有限的场次都排在工作日，且不约而同在饭点。在假期即将来临之际总算赶上了本市的最后一个场次。整个慈溪该不会就我一个人在看这么温暖的片子吧。

基于7个原创绘本改编的动画短片集，今天首映。最喜欢其中《蒯老伯的糖水铺》和《外婆的蓝色铁皮柜轮椅》两个故事，勾起很多回忆 ……
地震那个被感动到了，小火车意向很好。
很有意思的绘本电影。期待更多的作品！小火车看得我眼泪怎么都停不下来，bgm好好听。糖水铺像是回到了平时很多个和朋友约糖水的晚上，运镜也很神奇，很喜欢从芝麻糊开始的那一段运镜。哼哈将军非常有趣的角度，也很温暖。喜欢w
