The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 高潮没起来，故事不饱满，节奏细节不太好，部分包袱没处理好效果。
俗而不色，乐而不尬。下岗喜剧人再就业，开心麻花出来的小演员确实会比起刘老根大舞台那些演员注重剧本的设计，对于隔着屏幕观看的表演缺乏现场氛围后的不尴尬是喜剧着重的地方。其实故事的很多笑点设计也是那些俗套的设计，但是它并不下流，好笑的地方也并不高级，甚至故事也并不高级，他依旧保持着小品的水平，但是它网大的定位却让它有些鹤立鸡群和超出预期了。其实开心麻花很多普通的本子用来拍网大是一个稳定的流水线了。
不过欧美有很多优秀的地方，我们要学习。
