The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 《大学新生》在SXSW先声夺人，此次阵容升级时隔一年就做超高速回归；97年生人的Cooper Raiff小哥依然延续着熟悉的“大男孩寻找意义”的故事风格对生活周遭做出观察，始终长不大却又格外天真烂漫。夜场“氛围组”的职业背景是一些兼职学生的写照，也将“年下之爱”用更为梦幻的笔触写就；近年来渐入佳境的Dakota的帮助，让角色间拥有默契。是新人之姿仍在安全区踱步的试探，也是对自己擅长领域的持续延伸。

男主和Domino这段感情，既是错位也是对位。看看Domino的情况：年轻貌美，本身面临心理问题，带着多少有点不太正常的孩子，要给孩子找一个继父…这些恰恰都是男主的母亲所经历过的。包括在继父的刻画上，都是那种外表冷漠无聊，甚至看起来有家暴倾向，但骨子里Family大过一切。所以结局的分离也是双重的，一方面是和Domino，而另一方面，更本质的，是和母亲的分离。
又是一部以小搏大的精致作品，非常喜欢。真挚又克制，励志却不说教，我觉得是很多年后依然能把握脉搏的青年故事。结尾让我想到了”we don’t talk anymore” 的MV. 不管你现在在谁的怀抱里，抬头看到某片云的那个瞬间，你想起了我。云朵会消失，但记忆无处遁形。“Your memory is not going anywhere.” And I guess we do have like a couple of soul mates along the way, if not 1200.
一些好喜欢的节点 ：1）刚开头的两分钟，那几句“Are we sure?” “Sure, sure?”，妈妈真的很好啊，好羡慕，想成为那样的妈妈；2）他很气地踢了草坪然后俯下身揉了揉那些草（44min前后）；3）好松弛的一场面试，那种骨子里的幽默和高自尊感让人羡慕，想成为那样的人；4）Domino关于depressed的一些描述，“Like you don't remember what better feels like, and then you do things that you think will make you feel better, but they don't, they make it worse. And the things that I'm really scared of doing are probably the things that will help me the most, but I just can't do them.”（55min前后） 5) 喜欢那些接吻课，尤其是最后那段“接吻是两个人的事，不光要关注对方，也要关注你自己的感受”。

达科塔实在太美了，只要出现我根本移不开眼（）&整个故事在私人的同时非常梦幻：试想一下谁不会被迷倒，但welcome to the real world/摊手
男主真的好会沟通，完全不像是一个22岁的人啊！我22岁如果这么会表达对家人的爱和愧疚就好了！
惊讶美国还可以拍这么白的电影，尤其是Apple

女主太美，但看完最大的感慨是找到内心peace前不要生小孩啊！
另外楚楚可怜但坚强的domino在家里随意摆一个姿势对andrew来说实在是暴击，怪不得andrew情根深种，虽然结局没能在一起
