编剧之野心似要囊括星辰大海，导演之功力却只落得东施效颦。跨越几十年的情节，要靠旁白极速开挂推进，所有情节和人物的设定近乎失真，议题过多导致处处语焉不详，模糊不清。不伦不类的片子定位，商业和文艺都没整明白的结果，就是叫好叫座都很难。苦心孤诣的宏大叙事，抵不过寡淡拙劣的呈现方式。当王珞丹的演技成为唯一可以期待的表现时，这个影评就可以成为纯粹的避雷针了。
