The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 小人物故事；
工整，精确，无聊。仿佛是吃一个自热锅或者是医院门口的快餐店的鱼香肉丝饭。你不能说他有什么问题或缺憾，但是除了吃饱也不会有更多的想法，高潮戏的写法拍法又是春晚小品式的。这是观众与制作者达成的一种微妙的默契，却又是这个时代的精神展现。
剧情中规中矩，没有突兀的地方。易烊千玺进步了。
易烊千玺的演技进步了一些，他身上有一股倔强，那股倔强在每一部电影都能看到。其实这部电影也是属于那种老套电影了，导演有点在模仿《当幸福来敲门》这部电影，为什么前者可以称得上伟大的电影？那是因为人家懂得收，而文牧野不懂，所以只能算是还合格的电影。电影结尾删掉他作为CEO那一幕，会更好，那一幕就应该减掉
