The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 剧作就很弱了，堆砌大量人物关系，叙事逻辑和节奏都相当的混乱。
TV版的下部，猎鬼对的各路大神露面了，开始对卖炭翁和他的鬼妹妹公审批斗，就一个主题想弄死丫挺的，卖炭翁还一个劲解释，毛用，应该黑化，直接反出猎鬼队，加入牛逼的十二月鬼，更残暴一些，目的只有一个救妹妹。
