俄罗斯视角里的14年顿巴斯冲突。影片通过卢甘斯克居民的讲述，算是极为直白地将乌克兰政府支持下的民主主义者及志愿武装的行动比较于纳粹军队的作为。影片同时也完全不避讳点出美国的实际介入以及西方雇佣兵的一早存在。最后引出瓦格纳的方式也是蛮巧妙的。
