The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 几个谐音梗还挺可爱的「PA-TREE-ARCHY」🌲「COUGH-Y」☕️「TACO-BOUT」🌮️ 也提到了经典的女同音乐家King Princess、Girl in Red、Phoebe Bridgers（菲比订婚快乐whatever）就是剧情有点太幼稚了 刚看二十分钟就能猜到走向 但还是很羡慕女主身边的人和环境 对queer极其友好到不真实 不过这种无脑lesbian甜片所呈现的正是我们努力的方向 不是吗？
这应该是疫情期间最能抚平我对好莱坞科幻片死气沉沉烂泥扶不上墙怒火的一部续集之作，撇开贩爱卖情怀的通病，IMAX全程炸裂，特效场面无可挑剔，一扫《蝙蝠侠》《神奇动物3》废话连篇又无所作为的烂长无力，虽然新旧男女主角的相遇不意外用了个烂俗的双线桥段，主角群像光环闪瞎眼，故事推进全靠巧合，但不妨碍它构架的宏大，气势上的磅礴，而且尽可能让每种恐龙有独特的出场方式，细节更是数次致敬斯皮尔伯格的开篇风格，有角色之间的碰撞，有招牌情怀的呈现，给来看特效的观众最大的诚意，给爱惊悚冒险的观众布置重重危机，狭小空间的对峙，森林里的肃杀氛围，陆地上空的追逃猎奇，再陷研究基地的种种未知，尽享恐龙世界的奇妙神秘，兼具惊悚与壮阔，一秒回到“侏罗纪公园”的童年噩梦，今年进口片中最值回票价的视效佳作，妥妥的得二刷！★★★☆

把电影版里本来应该有的夏冬情节单独放出来独立成片了，以至于剧情断断续续不连贯，没看过原著的人应该很难看懂吧。但是我们小情侣太甜了，亲亲拉手看烟花，让人没有办法不打五星啊。
真是受限于篇幅了，这是一段很细腻很长，可以说是剧场版成年组的平行线了，怎么都得给我来个一个小时才行嘛！更何况，细腻的感情需要一些风声和留白的。总之，情感的起伏也太快了，甚至情节之间都是一种瞬切的变化。蛮可惜

其实是一个挺好的过渡篇。内容散乱是主要问题，但考虑到其“承上启下”的作用（如果有的话）还是可以宽大处理的😆里面挺有意思的是把蝉鸣说成是「好想做爱」挺别出心裁。情感相比tv铺垫肯定是不够的，甚至故事都是虎头蛇尾的，歌词一下子出来然后清唱了事，也难怪不少人差评。归根结底还是，情感这东西吧，就是要铺垫的，特别是这种“平淡”的生活般的故事，更是需要渲染情绪（更多是观众的，毕竟是给观众看）也由此大抵可以估摸出，感情的到位需要多少“篇幅”才够。总的来说，given最大的问题就是内容不够多不够细腻吧，别的也没啥，商业化的动漫这样就也还行
奇观不错，但文戏实在看得我昏昏欲睡……感觉和普通的怪兽片差不多，工业流水线下的产品，看完有种好莱坞黔驴技穷的感觉

太失望了，特效没过瘾，剧情又无聊，稍微有看点的也就镰刀龙出场那段，最后好不容易有个三龙大战，结果就这？环球是没钱了吗，这也太敷衍了，最后强行和谐共处，作为系列完结篇实在太差
