The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 这海报看不出来是哭或笑，但都是一种几近癫狂的状态。男主不单单是中年危机，还有更多的疑似PTSD症状，每当分离的时候，都有一种抓狂的状态呈现，甚至他女儿也受此影响很深。这来自早期的分离创伤没有疗愈，自然很要命。结尾女儿离开时痛苦再度出现，往常不是逃避就是放纵，但都不能从根本上解决问题。
秉承了爱笑会议室的幽默细胞，编剧，导演，演员，都非常到位，小成本大精心制作。中国的电影就应该这么拍，看得津津有味，搞笑又不失温情，结局合情合理，基本上没什么明显的漏洞。
