The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? 完全喜欢不起来的片子，盖特不到PTA在片子里埋的梗。胶片一星，插曲一星，霍夫曼的儿子表演一星。
三星半。PTA很任性、很私人化、很美国的表达，胶片质感非常舒服。70年代的美国姐弟恋爱情故事，年轻人在时代里随波逐流，以为自己长大了，却发现成年人的社会很烂。男女主角总是在青春洋溢的奔跑着，还出现了PTA标志的蓝色光芒。因为对故事发生的年代和那时候的美国不了解，很难说看得很懂。

I love it好久没看到这么流畅的故事，镜头的调度好美很有语言感，是可以看画面就能知道导演要表达的内容，特别棒。我又好讨厌这部戏的故事，它是这样的令人讨厌的真实和简单，简单的快乐，简单的生活如婊子的糟糕，我恨透了这样的内容，又好喜欢这部戏让我这么愉快的投入。

怀旧感真强啊。七十年代属于大门乐队。没想到是这样一种成长史。
多次奔跑行走的镜头暗示着男女主的感情的分分合合，儿女情长就是一场又一场你追我赶的捉迷藏游戏。

多羡慕他们可以理直气壮地把一切抛在脑后，肆无顾忌地奔跑……
荒诞离奇的故事用朴实优美的手法表现出来
彼此错开成熟的时刻，反倒是最在乎的却也无法真正鼓起勇气面对。总觉得会有时间，因为已经知道彼此无法丢失，无法成为路人。这真的是高级的感情故事，真诚也真实。
当pta拍了一部看似挺有趣且门槛不怎么高的片子，而我却几乎无法在主角成长亦或是情感变化中找到任何情感共振是挺遗憾的（部分转折有点突兀），后半段也只在欣赏一些光影啊调度啊还有恰到好处的配乐等他的强项，但还是很喜欢
