很聪明地用黑白影像弥补了整体韵味的不足，不过制作还是太现代，尤其配乐好突兀，碎片化叙事也偶尔让人摸不着头脑，最惊讶的倒是第一次看见正面砍头的场面

丁若铨虽然深受儒家教育，但他展现出来的风貌非常的老庄，用出世的态度过入世的生活。同时他身上还有难能可贵的人人平等的现代意识，这种洞察力和道德品德使他太超前于时代因此甚至不被最亲密的人所理解，也使他比其他人都更像一个一撇一捺的人。拍的非常古典美，故事也讲的很清楚合理。薛景求演这种被时代侮辱损害了的人真是绝了！
