看的时候觉得是个很老派的故事，有种特别的冷酷和直接，原来是翻拍的片子……现在的黑色故事反倒充斥着矫情和虚伪。电影水平非常一般，库柏演得还不错。但是男演员健身过度本体先于角色的存在真的不是啥好风气😑

和老版相比，主题从马丁伊登式人的奋斗和幻灭到欺骗与自我欺骗，“玉面情魔”原本指涉周旋于三个女人之间的Stan，到这里多角关系断裂感明显，似乎能称之为情魔的只有抢戏的心理医生。前一小时马戏团的部分显然投注了陀螺本人的独特美学和恶趣味，粘液内脏质感的洞穴、咕噜样的怪人延续了黑童话怪物片的画风，圆形淡出转场勾连老电影的尝试到后半场就被抛下了。Stan的两次灵感就像导演本人一样，从手绘图开始演绎脑洞大开的表演术。老版的紧张宿命感被拉长为冗长的各路亲密关系心理分析，整体的感觉就是大可不必。

3.5 看的是巴黎Max Linder影院上映的黑白版。此片适合黑白，比彩色好，有些惊艳。

故事背景,还有细节都很有意思. 一点点魔幻的感觉. 只是故事讲的稍微匆忙了点. 再铺垫的扎实点,估计会很不错.

充满震慑力的主线也好，丛生而相互关联的支线也好，都非常适合陀螺按自己的风格发挥。
这次不志怪反而选择志人的Guillermo del Toro明显不够得心应手，阵容很豪华，故事却没有什么新意，实在想不出翻拍的必要在哪？
通灵术就是一念地狱，内心自卑的异乡人对名利的追逐就像片名一样，nightmare alley通往噩梦。
真的很像一个mini series的节奏，karma, oh karma.
