电影没有明确的反战意义，那些一起出生入死的事迹是否值得？阿富汗、叙利亚什么的，算正义、算爱国？男主一门心思要回到战场，除了打仗，他啥也不会。男主身体的伤病，大脑的损伤，回到战场这个执念，都是病。狱卒对游骑兵的嘲笑、露露自杀的主人、沦落成盗贼的流浪汉老兵、露露的哥哥和其主人的疗愈，似乎有那么一点反战的意思。只是显得被迫和无奈。
不错， 杰克·吉伦哈尔没有令人失望，和《恐怖直播》有得一拼
