The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. 剧情推进中规中矩，但体育类励志片基本都能拍出彩，因为通过剪辑，可以轻松展现从菜鸟到大神的进化。片中亚当奉献了精神的演出，从一名过气球星的郁闷，到发现了新星，再到炒掉傻吊老板，最后峰回路转在新星身上实现了自己梦想的延续，把这一过程演得入木三分。
很典型的励志片，如果看内核是很简单甚至是俗套的，但是不得不说就是喜欢看这种剧情。印象最深的就是贯穿全片的那句“you against you”，我们永远都是在和自己比，比自己更强才是真正的强大。另外，真的请了好多大咖客串啊！
