The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 沉郁而悲伤，是Paolo对Vittorio的告别式。用Kaos为不曾共同实现的The Nail写下注脚，隔着漫漫时光的回望在黑白与色彩交替的场面化作一丝轻叹。前2/3的荒诞与神秘是Pirandello的幽灵在Taviani兄弟的历史戏剧元叙事中逡巡。后1/3则明显断裂，不知所措。从剧本中删除的《游吟诗人》唱词Leonora addio…被保留成为标题，同样飘荡如幽灵，就像片中无处不在的Vittorio。

在那些真实的灵性游戏时刻，我们突然清楚看到世俗游戏的虚妄。然而我们仍然要寻求一条道路，可以遵循着双重游戏的规则，不背弃存身其中的往日世界，也不背叛此刻的自己。为此，我们需要足以虚构出一生的想象力，以及断头的勇气。

迷离荒诞的奇幻之旅，色彩与镜头的登峰造极，即便放在众多A24杰作之间，《绿衣骑士》仍然是其中极为耀眼的那一部，满分。故事上个人感觉并非晦涩到一筹莫展，导演还是留了很多讲解在的，大体上表现出了这是一场关于骑士的成长冒险，只是细节上的确需要原文对照。
观看过程中在3星与4星之间不断摇摆。风格仍然是很A24，为了凸显风格而装神弄鬼，摄影炫技到有点让人眼花缭乱到华而不实。故事倒没有那么让人印象深刻，就是一个有点黑暗童话版的老母亲设局让纨绔公子哥成长为骑士的故事。但是导演确实有能力把这个故事拍的比较吸引人，巨人等几个段落甚至有了史诗气势，真正做到了把小成本片子拍出了大片感。PS，Dev Patel是怎么变得那么hot的，和Joel Edgerton那一亲真的是撩动心弦。
还挺不错的，电影院观感也很棒。A24风格显眼，小成本拍出了史诗大作的味道很不容易，服化道摄影配乐都相当加分。由于事先了解了故事原型，整体理解没有什么太大障碍，以至于古英语和咬文嚼字也并不觉得有什么太大的问题。些许细节不错，几个原创场景也值得拿来具体分析。全片动物戏都很加分，从开场的驴鸭互动到后来的狐狸角色都有点戳到我…还有就是片中有不少很冷的笑点正中我下怀了，不过全场鸦雀无声可能还是我比较奇怪吧…
故事讲的鸡零狗碎，而且处处卖弄高深，故弄玄虚的剧本，还总顾左右而言他，个人一直不太欣赏得了A24这个厂牌，架子常年端的高，内里的含金量也是一窥见底，琐碎又冗余，慢热且枯燥，既失去了流畅性，也没有了故事性，摄影倒是一景观，但我太不喜欢这种厂牌命题作文型的统考感，只有框架，没有拓展。★★
男孩成为骑士的成长之路，缓慢的美学电影，坚持让我看完的主要在于极佳的影像和视听语言了。

剧情晦涩冗长，除了有特色的镜头语言可看，普通观众根本无观看必要。

制作升级了，也塑料了，DP不知道是不是同一个人但减分了。文本中后段城堡段有点破节奏。肯定不如魅影，但依然是好电影。腰带就像那个肆无忌惮的保障，自由却并不存在。导演应该赚到钱了吧！！

04.08.2021 | @ Regal Majestic | 读完书后二刷。后劲太大了。电影对故事的改编真妙，Morgan Le Fay角色的改写说得通，故事改得真圆。对结尾的双重诠释十分A24。依旧，太爱Winifred的故事了，这很Witcher。 30.07.2021 | @ Regal Majestic | w. Noelle | 和亚瑟王故事迷的同事小姐妹一起看的第一部电影。这部片里的符号和隐喻太多了：可以随手丢弃的爱情、无法放开的亲情、投我以桃报之以李、因果报应。A24大概也要把作品串连成一个宇宙，Midsommar式的壁画承前，路上的羊群启后（映前看Lamb的预告片也是怪异得惊艳！）。如果《被掩埋的巨人》要拍成电影，应该也差不多会是这个样子吧。（谁来拍啊求求了！）
亚瑟王在宫廷举行圣诞宴会，亚瑟王的姐姐即高文的母亲摩根见儿子不求上进，就找巫女召唤出绿衣骑士，以借此让高文展露头角成为骑士。绿衣骑士向圆桌骑士挑战：有谁能砍下他的头，就可获得他的武器和由此带来的荣誉，但必须在一年后的圣诞节至绿教堂回敬一斧。作为亚瑟王的外甥、王位潜在的继承人，高文用亚瑟的剑出来挑战，但绿衣骑士被摩根操控而引颈就戮被砍下头，而后起身捡起头骑马离去。一年后亚瑟让高文赴约至绿教堂，母亲为高文制作一绿腰带并保证其不受伤害。在丛林中被一男二女打劫后，遇见圣女维妮芙蕾德，帮她从深潭捞回砍下的人头后获得丢失的巨斧，与一狐狸相伴而行，遇裸体女巨人，而后遇到一个好客的基佬贵族，到达绿教堂，绿衣骑士要砍高文的头时高文退缩逃跑了。回来后，亚瑟册封高文为骑士；亚瑟死后继承王位，埃塞尔产下男婴后夺走孩
