The story appears simple on the surface, but is revealed, especially after multiple viewings, as more multi-layered and textured than Cassavetes at his best. Ostensibly it concerns a 14-year old Catholic girl, Wynne (Agutter) growing up in this post-modern wasteland, who develops a crush on her much older adoptive brother (Marshall)- a crush which perversely deepens and grows into infatuation once she starts to believe he is the local sex killer. This is in itself an idea that makes you sit up and jolt, but as the narrative develops, it continues not necessarily along a linear path but in several confusing and fascinating directions: the family's history, (detailed effectively in chilling flashback during an improvised seance) is a chequered one, and has suffered at least one major relocation and upheaval in the last ten years. At the crux, however, it's the depiction of socialal changes that make I Start Counting so fascinating and elevate its language far beyond the confines of the standard horror film. The major subtext- that teenage girls were maturing more quickly than before, and developing full sexual and romantic appetites (even if in thought rather than deed) but were not possessed of enough discretion to make the right choices- was a step forward for a genre in which its young females had previously been portrayed as bimbo victims (Cover Girl Killer and The Night Caller spring to mind), but not one that all viewers would necessarily agree with. But most striking of all, and possibly the most enduring image which the viewer will take away with them, is of the masterful symbolism with which director Greene invests every shot. Every inch of the Kinch family's world- their house, their walls, their TV, Agutters underwear, bedroom furniture and toys, Sutcliffe's clothes, Marshalls van, the local Catholic church, their town centre, their record shop) - is painted a bright, scintillating white- a white which, by inference, is slowly becoming smudged and corrupted with the dirt of the outside world. White also symbolises, of course, purity and innocence (two qualities Catholic schoolgirls are supposed to hold dear), and it is into this world of innocence that the ever-present red bus (a symbol of violation and penetration), conducted by the lecherous yet similarly juvenile Simon Ward, makes regular journeys. The allegory is further expanded in one scene where Agutter believes she sees the Christ figure in church weeping blood: by the time we acknowledge it, its gone, but the seed has already been planted. Rarely in a genre production has the use of colour and background been so important or effective in creating a uniformity of mood. I Start Counting is as near-perfect an end to a decade as one could hope for, and exactly the kind of film people should be making now- which is, of course, exactly why they never will. 优缺点兼具的片子，片中穿插的各种虚实意象和整个片子的美术确实出彩，尤其喜欢结尾天上落下的血雨，整部片子有明显的美院思维。但是缺点也明显到让人无法忽视…整部戏为了方言所以演员对白全部使用配音…而且看得出为了减少嘴形和声音的违和感故意少拍了很多演员的露脸镜头，好多画面都是背过身子讲话，加上由于影调和服装的关系，导致人物的特征也不突出，分不清谁是谁…尤其是群戏的时候，配音加上不那么有逻辑性的摄影机调度，让观众很混乱，不知道谁在说话，不知道谁中弹了，谁死了。剧情发展和人物心态的转变也不很自然，有点为了艺术美感强行削弱逻辑的嫌疑，但其实二者并非不可兼得。
国产战争片居然拍出了美强惨的味道，从镜头美学角度去开发这个小众的浙西南革命精神和挺进师的故事，孤勇的壮烈搭配讲究的美学镜头，让艺术价值和精神价值两者兼具，很难得
好爱这部
开头的拉出长镜头就一直在晃，从头到尾颜色都很暗，因为不调色，这个片子肯定让人没法看下去。所有人物都立不起来，剧情薄弱，人物之间建立不起关系，动机也不成立。这次最大的收获可能就是，见到了耳闻已久的衰翁😎
这些无名英雄即便在这黑白影像的处理下，也焕发着耀眼的光彩。

结构非常好。镜头调度、分镜都太草率了吧，配乐有时候有点过了。色阶是不是有点卡得太过了，有点影响观感了
这才是真正的战争片，身处苦难中看不见世界的颜色，黑白灰彰显庄严，但也暗含绝望，当那场血雨来临，希望也随之来临，世界将在革命先烈的守护下恢复五彩缤纷！
在以往的战争题材影视作品中，浙西南革命故事很少被提及，对于观众来说，挺进师的名字更是陌生。选择以此作为电影的切入口，主创团队一方面是想弥补这一段历史在影视创作中的空白；另一方面是看到了故事背后的张力：在这一段不为人知历史中，一群普通士兵的信仰之路。
Bgm跟心跳同频，把激动的心一直吊着，从头至尾都很沉浸。
剧作方面还是散了点，导致影片内涵很浅，如此拍电影，讲故事似乎成了一件形式主义的事情。
电影大量采用浙江话，这点真的很用心，身临其境地体验了浙西南革命精神这一相对冷门的创作灵感
通过这部电影认识到“挺进师”精神，非常珍贵，是同样需要我们世代传承的高贵品格。
不看《云霄之上》应该永远不会知道挺进师的故事，这部浙派电影把无名英雄的故事用诗意的手法讲述出来，让先辈们得以走进观众的视野和内心、走进国富民强的新中国。
本片的信息量太大，有点像流水账，不熟悉那段历史的人会看得很累，而且片中对血腥场面拍摄得很克制，武打戏也不精彩，看在布景和演员上给多一颗星了。
随着镜头切入，沉浸式跟随战士穿梭于山野间，行走在这幅战争悲画中，感受那时的热血与悲壮。
整体不错
喊番号的时候眼泪直打转。信念的力量真的好强，可以不畏生死，不考虑武器差距
在接近黑白画面风格的处理下，最后下的血雨，画面转成红色真的有被震撼到，这场雨是有多少无名英雄的牺牲所换来的，极致悲壮又饱含希望。
