The Freebie centers on Darren (Shepard) and Annie (Aselton), a young married couple with an enviable relationship built on love trust and communication. Darren and Annie still enjoy each other’s company and laugh at each other’s jokes, but, unfortunately, they can’t remember the last time they had sex. When a dinner party conversation leads to an honest discussion about the state of their love life, and when a sexy bikini photo shoot leads to crossword puzzles instead of sex, they begin to flirt with a way to spice things up. The deal: one night of freedom, no strings attached, no questions asked. Could a freebie be the cure for their ailing sex life? And will they go through with it? With a keen eye and fresh take, Aselton’s directorial debut shines with crisp storytelling and fine-tuned performances. 有多余剧情，但整体感觉是对的
孤独深处，苍凉的西部、公路色彩影片，这种迷茫和无依其实非常符合当下的美国社会现状。赵婷真的棒，作为外来者，能在自己的头几部长片就把握了现阶段美国精神的精髓，并且招募到如此优秀的演员和团队。Fern念的那首莎翁十四行诗恰好是我最喜爱的一首。
这不是浪漫的公路之歌，而是献给不得不离开的人们。驱逐至边缘，流离失所的状态下，或许才能体会最大的迷惘与自由。

观影过程如同全程把额头靠在冰凉的车窗上，看着沿途的人，荒地和山脉，一动不动，一言不发。有时玻璃上晕了呼吸的水汽，就用手掌擦擦。
可能因为配乐、摄影和配角都情节剧化，拉低了全片的美学价值，和主角表演的现实气质不搭。和妹妹有关于介绍妹夫的一段对话好，有力量抗衡的成分，说一层感受一层。后面秉烛夜谈就很单一了。四星，然后想把肯洛奇所有片都改成五星…| 拎着一个灯隔着白裙子走路，远处是夕阳所以一开始以为是夕阳光，换过手来才知。好美！
